Holiday Home Tour: Creating a Colorful Christmas
Happy holidays friends! I’m am so excited to be partaking in this year’s eclectic holiday home tour! If you’re visiting from Jessica’s page welcome, I hope you’ll stay a while- I’ve got brownies in the oven and the fireplace is almost always lit, plus our bar (which I will showcase next week in my second home tour) is very well stocked : )
This year, I decided to throw all my former inclinations about Christmas decor out the window (well really I threw them into the garage) and embraced the kid in all of us! Very quickly a whimsical, color-filled scene took shape. And this season, as my son approaches 3, we’ve had to be mindful of keeping things “kid friendly” a.k.a. unbreakable. Nothing that I displayed could be too precious and all décor is light enough to be moved to new locations and can happily live next to any other piece in our home (did I mention that our kiddo likes to rearrange things often- I’m going to go out on a limb and say that he got that quality from his momma).
Aside from being convinced that Santa’s belly will shake like a bowl full of jelly the moment he sets eyes on the art above our multi-colored forest, I am a firm believer in the idea that the way you feel internally is often expressed externally. And what better way to highlight our love and happiness for family and friends than to have a bright and happy holiday home to live and entertain in!?
On that note, I’ll leave you with my pictures and my Christmas wish: that everyone one feels the kind of love that we are so lucky to experience, and that if you too are just as lucky, pass a little along to those who may need some.
Here's a look at our festive living room...
The dining room is also full of holiday cheer...
And lastly, a little peek from the dining room into the sunroom and our tree! I'll be highlighting this space on the blog next week, so check back soon.
I'd like to send a huge thank you to Jess Rey from Domicile 37 for putting this together. Every blogger on this home tour has some serious talent- so if you're looking for more inspiration, head to any of their sites below:
