Powder Room: Pretty in Pink or From Pink to Pretty??
Our powder room may the one room in the house that actually NEEDED the LEAST amount of work, but that doesn't mean that I wanted it to look the way it did. With pink 80's wallpaper- complete with floral border, a shell sink, tarnished gold faux bamboo mirror and a cheap vinyl blind, it was begging for a makeover. However, it wasn't really in terrible shape, and like the misbehaved youngest child, the rest of our home was taking up almost all of our a time and attention. So, every now and then I'd pop in and make a little change. First, I swapped the mirror for a more substantial model that I found while sourcing furniture for a client in Manhattan (sometimes that just happens- 2 for them, 1 for me).
Next, I began adding art. This eventually turned into collecting art specifically for this space- abstracts, nudes, etc. And every time I found a new piece, I found myself immediately hanging it up in here.
A shelf and unique towel hook from Anthropologie made there way in, then a new dark wood blind, and just last week I found the perfect narrow sconces to hang next to the mirror. After that last purchase, I realized that I was all in on this space and that rather than simply applying some lipstick and nailpolish, this girl was going to get an extreme makeover- full on eyebrow lift, botox, lipo, you name it! I am currently sourcing faucets, wallpapers, flushmounts, and hardware and I am sharing my favorites below...
My wallpaper choices (obviously I like bold patterns. And blue!) :
A few fabulous choices for flush mounts:
Check out these faucets (have you noticed a theme yet?) :
I have a few favorites in mind to turn this lady back into the beauty that she always was. And I'd love to hear what you'd choose. Check back in soon to witness the transformation!
