ORC: Family Room Wk 5- The Not So Pretty Parts of Remodeling
When you’re knee deep in a room remodel sometimes you can forget how beautiful the final product IS going to look. This past week, while working on the family room for week 5 of the One Room Challenge, I was so entrenched in painting and making over the built-ins that for a second, I felt a sudden spark of uncertainty. It dissipated just as quickly as it came over me, but that jolt prompted me to look back over my design boards, rifle through the accessories and head to the garage to get another glimpse of our furniture. It also made me think about how others, who are experiencing a similar process, may feel and it gave me a new sense of empathy for my client’s who are often leaving the design of an entire home in my hands. So, the past week’s realities have reminded me of a few things: trust my instincts, keep on keeping on, and be more understanding when questions and hesitancy may arise- it’s normal, and even those who do this for a living have them!
Here’s a peek at all the “not so pretties” that lead me to that moment of doubt...
What’s that saying?...”there’s always a rainbow after the rain.” Well my friends, come back next week to watch as the clouds part and the sun shines down (I had to throw in a cheesy quote somewhere 😆). And while you’re currently online checking out design blogs, pop over to the pages of other guest participants and see what they’re up to in this stage of the One Room Challenge!
As always- Love and Creativity,
