Animal Art Aficionado
"We don't live in a barn" is a phrase that, as a kid, I would frequently hear from my mother. She, of course, was referring to the stray socks I left behind or the few toys that were strewn about my bedroom. (Writing this, I realize just where my obsession for keeping things clean and organized came from! ) And that phrase really resonated with me, but it had the opposite effect of what was intended. Not because I like a mess, in fact I can't stand anything out of its place (you know, I'm beginning to think therapy might be in order), but because our house is somewhat like a "barn," or maybe I should say "zoo?"
Let me clarify... What I'm trying to express is that I LOVE animals and if it were up to me, our house would be full of them. But instead, I fill it with animal art! That keeps things nice and tidy the way I like it (and maybe the way my brain Requires it- okay, seriously, does someone have the number of a good therapist?) but it also lets us enjoy the pleasures of adorable quirky barnyard faces and admire the beauty and magnificence of more exotic creatures. What's more is that each time our son walks past a painting or model, he giggles and imitates that animal's sound-And it's absolutely the BEST thing in the world to witness!
So, animal art makes us happy and I couldn't think of a better thing to fill your home with!
